Dear Friends,
Please, if you will now let me entice and excite you with the
launching of “Eldorado”. What is it you ask? Well, if you stop your blood
doping for a sec I’ll tell you. It’s some kinda car, I think, and/or a lost city of
gold, but for our purposes it’s what we’re calling the new subscription
service, (by we I mostly mean me).
See I really like making songs for you, and with you, and also covering
your favorite songs, Clem Snide and otherwise. But I can’t launch a
Kickstarter campaign every month and I know many of you don’t have $200
to spend so ephemerally. If you subscribe to “Eldorado” and pay the meager
$8 US a month you will receive, as well as inspire, a new and exclusive 3-5
song EP emailed monthly right to your door.
I don’t just want to peddle some tepid live recordings, or t-shirts, or
whatever. I want to make something new and weird and fun. So to join
Eldorado is not just to be a passive consumer of music but an active
participant in its creation. There will be a special email address to which you
will send your thoughts, ideas, words, lyrics, pictures, unfinished tracks,
anything really, so long as it’s fits in an email.
I will then tenderly scour these emails, randomly choose a few, and get
crackin’. Also it’s safe to say that there wont be many members, at first, so
there’s a good shot your email will be honored, at some point (I would try
and hold out for at least a year to see where it can go). I will send along
update emails to you as well. Now I realize this is mostly unchartered
territory, so as we swing our machetes through the underbrush I welcome
any and all of your questions and suggestions; and if nothing else you can
always cancel.

The Clem Snide subscription service is in the making – here’s some first details!
For a meager $8 a month you will receive a 3-5 song EP of unexpected covers, new renditions of Eef/Snide tracks, and original songs all inspired by YOUR suggestions. The EP will be exclusive to subscribers and available every month via Bandcamp.
Other perks are to include: Guest list spots, various swag, and a soul enriching tingle in your heart from helping to fund and create indie music/art. More about this in a few weeks’ time…
Many exciting Clem Snide/Eef Barzelay things await you in 2013 like…
* The new record “Songs for Mary” will see its official release in spring!
* An original song, called “The Woods”, is featured in the “Senses” episode of the new BBC show “The Wonders of Life” with our man Brian Cox.
* Also: “God Answers Back” from the “End of Love” album will be used in the new Diablo Cody movie (end credits yo!).
* Keep an ear out for Eef on NPR’s All Things Considered.
* But most exciting is the launching of a subscription service called “Eldorado”. More on this soon. Right here.
Eef and or Clem Snide will NOT be touring until the spring, but Eef is available for a few private shows before the years end. For $1000 plus travel expenses. Email Eef through his shop site for more details. Eef is also negotiable and eager to please.
As a special end of the world 2012 bonus you also get “Fan for Life” status which is: you plus 1 for any Eef/Snide show anywhere and forever and Eef will write you a song and cover a song of your choosing.
